What these guides measure

The current guides answer four concrete questions: how many Australian stores a chain has, how two chains compare, how widely drive-thru service is available, and what delivery can add to an in-store order. Those are counts and price comparisons, not rankings of which meal or brand is “best”. The list grows only when the same calculation can be repeated after the underlying data changes.

Store-count and drive-thru guides use the location records behind our directories. Delivery comparisons use matched menu observations rather than assuming one app or one suburb represents the whole chain. When a guide reports 312 stores, that is the number present in our dataset on the guide’s update date — not a rounded market estimate or a number copied from an advertisement.

How to read the figures

Every guide shows when it was last updated. Store networks, facilities and delivery prices can change between updates, so the date is part of the answer. Price-based guides explain whether a figure comes from state-level evidence, a national comparison or a limited sample; where local evidence is too thin, we say that instead of presenting a national fallback as a local fact.

We do not republish brand marketing copy and do not fill missing records with guesses. The full collection method is on the about page. If a store has opened, closed or changed a service since the latest update, you can report it so the next data refresh can correct the guide and the directory together.
